We pride ourselves on being a small training center that prioritizes one-on-one interaction with every athlete, taking the time to truly understand your individual needs. We believe true GRIT isn’t just about pushing harder—it’s about training smarter. The philosophy of GRIT is rooted in discipline, consistency, and structure. Training should prepare you for race day while still letting you enjoy your day-to-day life, not leave you depleted. We want every athlete to feel strong, energized, and motivated. Above all, the journey should be fun and fulfilling—because that’s when the best results come.

Chris Gonzalez

As a former NCAA Division 1 soccer player, Chris has always sought to challenge himself. After college, his fitness journey brought him to the Chevron Marathon, where he was enthralled by the energy and atmosphere of the sport. From there, running became integral to who he is. He found it gave him the ability to dig in, to find his grit when things got tough in and out of the sport. Today he is always striving to improve not only as a runner, but as a person. To be better than he was yesterday. Now, with years of racing, four world majors and trial and error under his belt, he hopes to share his knowledge and help people better tune into their bodies and themselves.

Kip hails from a tribe called Kalenjin, found in Kenya–a tribe known for producing some of the fastest runners in the world. For him, running is not a hobby–he would say there’s actually no word for “hobby” in his culture, there are only things you do as an extension of yourself. After a long and successful career as a runner (100+ races) and sports massage therapist, Kip hopes to spread the Kenyan running philosophy and warrior mindset. He hopes to help everyone discover a new relationship with running as an awakening of their body and soul.

That’s why our in-person certified coaches go beyond handing out training plans. They provide personalized guidance, accountability, and motivation tailored to your unique goals and lifestyle, while also helping you manage the mental side of training, such as race-day nerves, pacing strategies, and overcoming setbacks. Whether you’re preparing for your very first 5K, chasing a new personal record, or aiming to complete all six Abbott World Marathon Majors, our goal is to help you show up at the starting line strong, confident, and ready to perform.
